AT A GLANCE

Over 150 million Americans own an iphone.

Currently, Apple has a Legacy Contact feature

for those with an Apple Account.

To better understand our users, I conducted a

survey with 15 participants.

I began sketching concepts based

on Apple products that already existed.

Final testing revealed that My Legacy would

be used by new generation individuals.

Create your Memory Montage with Apple Intelligence.

The average person

takes over 2000 photos a year

The average person

sends over 70 messages a day

The average person

spends over 76,000 hours in

a lifetime on their phone

Starting in iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2, and macOS 12.1, you can add a Legacy Contact for your Apple Account.

Your Legacy Contact can be anyone you choose, and you can designate more than one Legacy Contact. They don’t even need an Apple Account or an Apple device.

Your Legacy Contact has access to your data for a limited time — three years from when the first legacy account request is approved — after which the account is permanently deleted.

Apple Music includes a "Replay" that highlights how you spent listening to music in the past year. I used several elements from that design to ensure consistency.

60% of participants said that they would like
to have a way for their memory to be shared with
their iphone.

40% of participants said that they were indifferent

to the idea.

DISCOVERY

IDEATION

TESTING

Participants wanted the memory montage to have customizable presets for Apple Intelligence to reference when creating it.

Insights gathered

Personalized messages should be limited in what language you can type to avoid any self-harm indications.

‘Legacy Contacts’ and ‘My Legacy Contacts’ should be kept separate so only Legacy Contacts have access to your Apple Account.

10 out of 12 users ages 19-26 would set up the My Legacy feature

3 out of 5 users ages 30-50 would set up the My legacy feature

Using insights from testing, I designed high fidelity

prototypes.

RESULTS

Share memories and send out personalized messages to loved ones.

3 main features

Keep your Apple Account secure with seperate contacts for your legacy.

Decide how you want your digital legacy to be shared and remembered.

Apple Intelligence knows you.

Through the use of AI Apple can create a special

Memory Montage in users stead. User will be able to

set presets that they would like such as color and

music and let Apple do the rest.

Photo Recognition.

Using the people stored in the Photos app, Apple

will only feature photos of users and the contact

their Memory Montage is being sent out to.

In a similar style to Apples Music Replay, Apple user's statistics: Favorite contacts, Favorite Photos and Favorite apps will be displayed to their Legacy contacts

With the integration of My Legacy into Apple's Legacy Contact,

Apple will see success in 3 ways.

An increase in iPhone 16 sales as they exclusively

feature Apple Intelligence.

CSAT score rising from 81 to 86.

Increase in trust from users.

Apple is present for users, every step of the way.
