We Set 3 Core Goals:
Increase connection
between users
Reinforce Privacy
Introduce 'Sharing Circle'

We found that sharing needed to be seamless, intuitive, and give users control over who could access their health information.
We mapped the user journey to identify pain points and opportunities for new features. Then, we analyzed three successful health app sharing features to inspire our first design iterations.
DISCOVERY
We followed the user journey and
compared it to competitors.
We had to build out DoctorNotes (previously NuriQ) sharing feature from the ground up.
As we iterated, we added 3 features: Ad-Hoc Sharing, Auto-Sharing, and the Sharing Circle.
IDEATION
We designed 20+ screens to introduce
3 main features.
AT A GLANCE
Transforming health data sharing into
a connected experience
NuriQ’s sharing feature created friction by limiting users to downloadable
PDFs with little control over access or visibility. I led the redesign of the
sharing experience by conducting research, mapping user journeys, and
iterating through multiple prototypes.
The final in-app solution enables easier sharing, stronger privacy, and
more consistent connection between users and their care networks.
THE PROBLEM
The existing PDF-based sharing flow was hard to read,
difficult to control, and disconnected from the NuriQ app;
limiting privacy, trust, and user onboarding.
DoctorNotes users could only share
their visits through a PDF summary.
THE QUESTION
How might we create a sharing circle that's both
secure and encourages new users to download the app?

We wanted to roll out the updated feature as quickly as possible to give users the best experience.
Development team worked with swiftness and provided their first iteration
Hi-Fi sketches turned into real screens
quickly.
After collaboration with the development team,
the official update was successfully released.
Development teams' first iteration.
SOLUTION
The features we designed were integrated into DoctorNotes newest update and can be viewed on the app today.

This project taught me the importance of thoughtful, user-centered design. Presenting to non-designers reinforced the need to clearly explain design decisions.
Iteration and testing showed that usability must come before aesthetics, and the first solution is rarely the best. Exploring multiple approaches, even beyond the requirements, ensured the design truly met user needs.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Re-designing a part of the system is only
1/2 the solution.
